Eastern Mountain Sports

If you're doing any sort of backpacking, this is the place to go.  They carry everything from backpacks to ice-picks and everything in-between.  If you're next stop is the Amazon Jungle or the frozen tundra that is Canada or just plan on hiking around Midtown, these guys will have everything you need and a lot that you probably wont.  Check the info desk for coupons, as they are hosteler friendly.

Sunday - 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

1. Walk 3 blocks east to Central Park West
2. Get on the downtown B train (NOT THE C)
3. Get off at the Broadway/Lafayette Station
4. Walk south on Broadway (with traffic)
5. The store will be on the left hand corner at Spring St.
