Union Square

Union Square is a lively open space in the heart of the lower part of Manhattan.  Every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday it is turned into a green market with lots of fresh produce and a couple of baked goods for sale.  On a nice summer day it will be packed with people sitting on steps, fountains and in the grassy areas of the square.  A great place to stop and have a picnic lunch if you're away from Central Park.

Directions to Union Square:

  1. Take the downtown #1 train
  2. Transfer at the 42nd Street/Times Square Station
  3. Get on the downtown N, Q, R or W train
  4. Get off at the Union Square Station
